Work History:

Royal Navy 12 years including 4 year apprenticeship, I visited around 40 countries and was based in Plymouth and Edinburgh in the UK. Since joining Airbus I have worked on Ground systems testing, Assembly, Integration and Test of Satellites, Procurement of Spacecraft equipment, Customer Service, Quality and Engineering
Current Job:

I am Head of a team of 60 Engineers in 4 countries who support our Design Engineers with Design and development tools to enable them to design spacecraft

I live near to Chichester with my wife and two daughters. Originally I am from the North West and have travelled a long way round to get where I am today. I always wanted to be involved with Space after watching the Moon landings as a 7 year old. So I am now really doing what I always wanted to do but that was via an apprenticeship and 12 years in the Royal Navy.

My original apprenticeship was in Electronics and Communications Engineering and I have worked in many different areas of technical and management activities.

I now manage a team of 60 people across UK, Spain, France and Germany who are involved in the support and introduction of Digital Design and Manaufacturing tools that help our negineers and technicians make ever more complex satellites that are needed by our customers.
My Typical Day: Mostly working online and on the phone to help support and manage my multinational team
